Join PHS ProStart at Green Bay Restaurant Week Kick-Off Event!!!


What is Restaurant Week?
    Green Bay Restaurant Week (July 9-16) allows everyone to experience great food and prices that delight your palate and your wallet, featuring discounted prix fixe menus from 58 restaurants

Restaurant Week Kick-Off Event
    As an added bonus this year, the event partners have graciously offered to develop a kick-off event that will benefit the two largest high school culinary programs in the area, Pulaski and Preble High Schools. Each school will have 5 teams of 3 students planning and preparing 2 hors d'oeuvres, 1 hot and 1 cold, totaling 20 different appetizers for event visitors to sample and choose their favorite for the People's Choice Award!

Date/Time:  Tuesday, July 7, 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
Tickets: $10 each (cash bar on-site at event)

Farewell to Seniors





A special farewell is extended to PHS's seniors who finished their high school careers today and will celebrate graduation on Wednesday, May 27. You'll be missed and keep on cooking!

Nesco Cooks It Up (and dries it out!) in ProStart Classes

We were incredibly fortunate to have The Metal Ware Corporation (Nesco) Sales Associate/Food Stylist, Ruby Renard, demonstrate a number of their products, including Nesco's griddle/grill, pressure cooker, and dehydrator.  ProStart students were able to see the capabilities of using various cooking methods in a food-service kitchen, as well as understand other employment opportunities available in the industry.  

I would like to give a huge, huge thank you to Ruby Renard and Darlene Schmitz (VP of Sales & Marketing) for donating their time AND equipment to enhance Pulaski High School's ProStart program.  You are amazing!

With the increase of dietary restrictions and vegetarian lifestyles, Culinary Arts 1 students develop vegetarian menus that contain vegan, lacto, ovo, and/or lacto-ovo recipes.
