Sizzling Chili Bowl Throwdown


On Sunday, Oct. 27 from 12-3, come support Pulaski ProStart as we team up with Fox Valley Technical College chefs at the Sizzling Chili Throwdown on Oct. 27 at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin! Eat chili and vote for your favorite (AKA Pulaski/FVTC!!!!)

Cartoon Cake Challenge- RESULTS!

Pulaski High School Advanced Foods students put their decorating skills to the test in creating a 2-layer cake (dark chocolate, vanilla, or red velvet).  The class voted on their favorite theme- CHILDREN'S CARTOONS!  The cook-off was based on two separate categories- #1: Taste (cook-off master judge, Jerad Marsh decided the fate of the results)  and #2: CAKE DECORATING, determined by an on-line vote.  Thanks to all who voted!!!

A smile always makes the day go by bisQUICKer



The Family Foods students finally were able to choose their own recipes! Following a lesson on functions of ingredients (i.e. Flour provides structure, eggs bind ingredients together and add color, etc) and convenience foods (foods that take steps out of a recipe), students used Bisquick's website to find a recipe to prepare in class.  Check out their process and winners below!

Less is More... 5 Ingredient Cook-Off

ProStart students were given the task of planning a recipe that includes 5 ingredients or less,  not including dry ingredients or staple ingredients found in their kitchens.  Each group was then responsible for pricing their menu item using the food cost percentage method often used in the restaurant industry.
